The Brain Surgeon's New Toolbox
Criterion A
Brain surgery has gone to the next step when using cutting edge technology. The M.D. Anderson Cancer Center at the University of Texas in Huston has reached optimum level when handling extremely delicate situations like brain surgery (Rosenwald, 2007). The extremely sophisticated neurosurgical setup consists of a ceiling-mounted Camera which has extremely high resolution and focus so that the brain surgeon can magnify and focus the brain, it has a large billboard to display the information at a extremely quick pace which could be viewed by all of the surgeons, and an extra-wide MRI scanner can accommodate bodies which are laid at a side and can’t be rolled at the back. The final result was named the BRAINSUITE and it costs 9.2-million dollars with all the equipment needed to operate it (Rosenwald, 2007). The cost is quite high and most probably won’t be found globally very soon but it is said to be built in other seven US hospitals.
